Senior Principal Systems Architect – Power Systems

About the role

GE Vernova's Electrification Software is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Architect for its Power Systems team. You will govern the design and integration of complex power generation and industrial electrification systems, bridging business objectives and technical execution from concept through to commissioning. The role acts as the primary technical coordinator, ensuring systems meet high standards of safety, reliability and operational efficiency. It is a remote position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and standardize reference architectures for power generation, data centers, microgrids and hybrid plants
• Lead the integration of inside-the-fence-line assets such as gas turbines, BESS, STATCOMs, substations and electrical gear
• Define system baselines, interface definitions and validation strategies (FAT/SAT)
• Partner with internal business units (Grid, Gas Power, Digital) and external stakeholders on technical alignment
• Review power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash) to ensure design integrity
• Mentor engineering teams and advance systems engineering best practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power Systems, Mechanical or Systems Engineering
• 12-15+ years of experience in power generation, EPC projects or transmission and distribution infrastructure
• Deep knowledge of inside-the-fence-line equipment and industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NERC, NFPA)
• Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex technical interfaces
• Ability to communicate with executive leadership and regulatory stakeholders
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
