Senior / Principal Structural Engineer – Dams

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join its Dams team, working on high‑impact water infrastructure projects across Australia. The role involves feasibility studies, design, construction support and asset management for concrete dams and related structures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and review of concrete dams, spillways and appurtenant structures.
• Develop conceptual to detailed designs for dams and structural components.
• Inspect, investigate and assess condition of existing dams.
• Provide construction support, including inspection of works, QA/QC data evaluation and reporting.
• Prepare tenders, proposals and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (essential).
• Demonstrated capability in structural design and preparation of design reports, drawings and specifications, preferably in the dam industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a collaborative mindset.
