Senior Pharmacist – Formulary Management (Part‑time)

About the role
The Royal Children’s Hospital is seeking a Senior Pharmacist to lead formulary management and support safe, effective medication use across the hospital. This permanent part‑time position (0.8 FTE) works closely with the Chief Pharmacy Information Officer, the Medicines Information team and the Drug Usage Committee.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and continuously evaluate the hospital medication formulary based on clinical evidence, safety, efficacy and cost‑effectiveness.
- Serve as the primary contact for formulary decisions and communicate outcomes to clinicians.
- Participate in Drug Usage Committee meetings, record minutes and disseminate decisions.
- Provide expert advice on medication utilisation and support quality‑improvement initiatives.
- Lead paediatric pharmacy engagement with Safer Care Victoria and statewide stakeholders to address medicine access, shortages and supply continuity.
Required profile
- Registered pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and listed on the Pharmacy Board of Australia register.
- Minimum 8 years of hospital pharmacy experience, including extensive work on medication guidelines.
- Post‑graduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy (Master’s level) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical pharmacy and formulary development.
