Senior Mobile Engineer (Android)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to build and maintain Xero Me's mobile applications for payroll, supporting millions of employees and employers. The role combines hands‑on development with mentorship and technical leadership, driving high‑velocity delivery while ensuring security, scalability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement native Android features, focusing on performance optimization, accessibility, testing and release management.
• Lead API contract design, collaborate on cross‑platform architecture, and influence shared engineering practices across Android and iOS.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct meaningful code reviews and help raise the overall engineering capability.

• Familiarity with backend service design, API contracts.NET, AWS, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
