Senior Mobile App Engineer – Government Projects

About the role
Join the Local Peoples team as a Senior Software Engineer focused on mobile app development for the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR). You will work in a high‑performing Agile environment delivering large‑scale digital solutions that improve access to skills, training, and employment services across Australia.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and deploy native iOS (Swift, SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose) applications.
- Gather and analyse requirements, contribute to solution design and architecture.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, business analysts and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable software.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services using Microsoft Web API and SQL/Entity Framework.
- Maintain, enhance and optimise existing mobile applications.
- Produce and keep technical documentation throughout the SDLC.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives.
Required profile
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent industry experience.
- Extensive experience developing enterprise‑grade mobile applications.
- Proven track record working in Agile software development environments.
- Experience delivering solutions in complex enterprise or government settings.
- Full‑cycle SDLC experience from design to deployment and maintenance.
