Senior Mechanical Project Engineer – Brisbane

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the technical delivery of large‑scale capital equipment projects from sales handover through design, manufacture, shipping, installation and commissioning. Based in Brisbane, you will act as the primary technical liaison between international customers and our internal design team.

Key responsibilities

• Size and select mechanical components such as shafts, bearings and drive systems.
• Specify process equipment and fluid handling systems, including pumps, valves, sensors and switches.
• Oversee 3D modelling in Autodesk Inventor and 2D drafting in AutoCAD for equipment and layout drawings.
• Monitor design and drawing release schedules to keep projects on track.
• Support fabrication through to installation and commissioning, including occasional domestic and international travel for site reviews and customer meetings.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 15+ years experience in project engineering within an OEM, design house or engineering consultancy.
• Hands‑on design background with experience in design calculations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with international customers.
• Solution‑focused mindset and ability to collaborate closely with a manufacturing workshop.
