Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Arista Networks is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of new switch modules and chassis for high‑density data‑center equipment. You will work within cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions on tight schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical structures, cooling, EMC, safety, and manufacturability aspects using Creo 3D CAD.
• Produce detailed drawings, critical dimensions, and 3D files for prototyping and production.
• Manage peer and cross‑functional design reviews, and coordinate BOM, release, and change processes in Agile PLM.
• Provide 3D models for thermal simulations and collaborate with ECAD teams on PCB placement and design.
• Work with contract manufacturers and suppliers to resolve DFM issues, test prototypes, and troubleshoot production problems, including occasional travel.

Required profile

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical design of computer/network equipment for data‑center environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and fluency in English.

Required skills

• Creo (PTC) 3D CAD and Creo Simulate (Mechanica).
• Thermal simulation and airflow testing.
• Sheet‑metal and plastic part design, including tooling guidelines.
• BOM, ECO, and deviation management (Agile PLM preferred).
• Experience with PDMLink (PTC Windchill) and basic ECAD collaboration.
