Senior Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre AI Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, commissioning and optimisation of mechanical systems for cutting‑edge data centre and AI infrastructure projects in Sydney. The role will involve end‑to‑end responsibility for MEP solutions, working closely with consultants, contractors and internal engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept through to commissioning for data‑centre and AI infrastructure projects.
• Develop engineering documentation, calculations and technical standards.
• Review consultant designs and contractor workshop drawings.
• Support equipment selection, procurement and construction activities.
• Participate in site inspections and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Drive optimisation initiatives and continuous improvement of system performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including 5+ years in data‑centre MEP.
• Strong knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics and ASHRAE standards.
• Proven experience with mechanical systems design and commissioning in complex, multidisciplinary environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving and stakeholder communication skills.
