Senior Maritime Engineer

About the role

Haskoning Australia is seeking a Senior Maritime Engineer to lead the design and delivery of water‑based infrastructure such as ports, harbours, quay walls and waterfront developments. The role combines technical design expertise with project management responsibility, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept and detailed designs for ports, harbours, jetties, dolphins, piles, sheet piles, seawalls and related maritime structures.
• Produce design calculations, review and check the work of other engineers, and prepare technical documents including Basis of Design, design reports and feasibility studies.
• Manage engineering designs using materials such as steel, concrete, timber and aluminium, and oversee structural inspections and reporting.
• Prepare work execution plans, allocate resources and schedule activities to meet project timelines.
• Deliver multiple small‑to‑medium projects following company systems, ensuring compliance with budget and quality standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and other team members.
