Senior Manager, Software Engineering

About the role

Alteryx is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead a remote, multidisciplinary team of 10+ engineers across Australia. The team builds and operates AI‑powered analytics products used globally, delivering reliable, secure, and scalable customer‑facing capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a diverse engineering team, handling hiring, performance management, succession planning, and career growth.
• Partner with Product Management, UX Design, and Technical Program Management to translate strategy into roadmaps and execution plans.
• Guide architectural consistency, reviewing major technical proposals across backend, frontend, data systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Own operational outcomes such as reliability, scalability, performance, security, cost optimization, observability, incident learning, and technical debt reduction.
• Champion AI‑assisted development practices while maintaining high standards for testing, security, and quality.

Required profile

• 10+ years delivering mission‑critical SaaS platforms or complex software products.
• Proven engineering manager experience with cross‑team delivery and strong engineering judgment.
• Experience leading distributed systems, cloud services, and production infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence product and engineering strategy.
