Senior Manager Customer Interface

About the role

The Senior Manager Customer Interface will lead the interaction between operational teams and project initiatives that affect service delivery within Sydney Trains stations. This permanent, full‑time position is based in Haymarket and focuses on ensuring customer, safety and operational requirements are embedded in project planning and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the interface between operational teams and projects impacting station environments.
• Identify, document and incorporate customer, safety and operational requirements into project plans.
• Provide operational expertise throughout the project lifecycle, working with project teams, Customer Area Managers and key stakeholders.
• Represent operational interests in project meetings, governance forums and risk workshops.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships while proactively managing project impacts on customers and frontline operations.
• Facilitate communication, consultation and issue resolution to minimise disruption and maintain a positive customer experience.

Required profile

• Senior project or programme manager with experience in multi‑disciplinary, complex operational environments such as rail or construction.
• Strategic and collaborative leader capable of navigating complex organisations and influencing outcomes across multiple teams.
• Proven experience with project management methodologies, leading hybrid teams and delivering high‑quality outcomes.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong governance, reporting and portfolio‑management expertise.
• Ability to provide strategic advice and support evidence‑based decision‑making for customers and communities.
