Senior Manager Commercial Development

About the role

The Senior Manager, Commercial Development will lead the strategic and commercial agenda for Global Sales & Distribution at Qantas. Based at the Mascot Campus, this full‑time permanent position drives revenue growth, cost efficiencies and long‑term business value across the airline’s sales network.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic initiatives that enhance revenue, commercial performance and operational efficiency.
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for Sales & Distribution, partnering with senior leaders to deliver complex, business‑wide projects.
• Lead the Corporate and Agency Dealing frameworks and manage strategic engagement with key airline partners.
• Oversee performance analysis, commercial dealing frameworks and ensure alignment with Group objectives.
• Build and mentor a team responsible for Strategic & Commercial Planning and Corporate & Agency Dealing.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management, Loyalty, Marketing, Legal and Communications to drive sustainable value.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience in strategy, commercial development, consulting or a related commercial leadership role.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful commercial and business strategies.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic, financial, operational and technology considerations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, including executive management.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior audiences.
