Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

Askable is looking for an experienced in‑house lawyer to build and lead its legal function across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting to the COO, you will work on commercial, privacy and corporate matters while partnering closely with Sales, Product, Security and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft enterprise SaaS agreements (MSAs, DPAs, SLAs, SOWs) and maintain contract templates.
• Partner with Sales to accelerate deal velocity and advise on procurement, vendor and partnership contracts.
• Lead data protection and privacy compliance (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA) and support security reviews, SOC 2 and ISO processes.
• Draft and maintain DPAs, privacy policies and internal guidance for cross‑border data transfers.
• Support board governance, corporate housekeeping, cap table management and employment‑related legal issues.
• Identify legal risks early, propose pragmatic solutions and create scalable legal processes.
• Manage relationships with external counsel, decide on in‑house versus outsourced handling and control legal spend.

Required profile

• Proven experience as in‑house counsel at a scaling SaaS or technology company.
• Ability to build legal processes from scratch in a fast‑moving environment.
• Business‑mindset with a focus on enabling revenue while managing risk.
• Strong collaboration skills with Sales, Product, Security and HR teams.
