Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Information Management

About the role

The School of Computer Science and Information Technology at Adelaide University seeks a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor to lead its Information Management programme. This full‑time, permanent position will shape curriculum, supervise postgraduate research and build a nationally and internationally recognised research profile.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in archival science, records management and digital preservation.
• Supervise higher degree research students and mentor junior staff.
• Secure competitive research grants and publish high‑impact research in library and information science.
• Engage with government archives, cultural institutions and industry partners to enhance professional links.
• Contribute to the School’s strategic planning and academic leadership.

Required profile

• Internationally recognised research record in Information Management, Library and Information Science or related fields.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development.
• Experience supervising postgraduate research.
• Strong professional networks with archives, records or cultural heritage sectors.

Required skills

• Expertise in archival science, records management, and digital/analogue preservation.
• Knowledge of information behaviour and cultural heritage information systems.
• Ability to obtain and manage research funding.
