Senior Lawyer, Regulation

About the role

Join a nationally recognised regulatory organisation and help shape legal reform, policy development and regulatory frameworks that impact stakeholders across Australia. You will work alongside government agencies, regulators and industry participants to deliver nationally consistent regulatory outcomes. This role offers the chance to influence complex legal, regulatory and policy matters with a broad national impact.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal, regulatory and policy advice on complex and evolving issues.
• Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of national regulatory frameworks.
• Undertake legal research, statutory interpretation and policy analysis.
• Prepare legal advice, submissions, briefing papers, consultation materials and recommendations.
• Contribute to legislative and regulatory reform projects.
• Build relationships with government agencies, regulators, industry stakeholders and external advisers.
• Monitor emerging legal and regulatory developments and provide strategic recommendations.

Required profile

• Admitted lawyer with strong legal analysis, drafting and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience in government legal practice, regulatory or administrative law, commercial/corporate law, in‑house legal teams, policy and legislative reform, regulatory compliance or regulated industries such as property, infrastructure or financial services.
• At least five years post‑admission experience; regulator or government experience is highly regarded but not essential.
