Senior Lawyer – Litigation & Dispute Resolution

About the role

Crown Law, the in‑house law firm for the Queensland Government, is seeking a Senior Lawyer to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team. You will lead a portfolio of complex legal matters, providing strategic advice and representation across a range of government disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality advice on liability, evidence, quantum, settlement, costs and strategic direction.
• Draft court documents, briefs and other legal filings.
• Instruct and manage counsel at hearings, mediations and alternate dispute resolution conferences.
• Oversee and mentor legal officers handling matters within the team.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Queensland.
• Significant experience in litigation and dispute resolution, preferably in the public sector.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a flexible environment.
