About the role

Crown Law, the in‑house legal service for the Queensland Government, is seeking a Senior Lawyer to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team. The role offers intellectually stimulating work, flexible arrangements and the chance to influence high‑profile government matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex litigation and dispute resolution matters across a range of government departments.
• Provide high‑quality advice on liability, evidence, quantum, settlement, costs and strategic direction.
• Draft court documents, briefs and other legal submissions; instruct and brief counsel for hearings and mediations.
• Negotiate settlements and represent the government in alternative dispute resolution processes.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in litigation, dispute resolution or related government work.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
