Senior Kafka Developer – Java & Spring Boot

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Kafka Developer to design and implement event‑driven integration solutions in a fast‑moving enterprise environment. The role focuses on building real‑time streaming pipelines using Java, Spring Boot, and Apache Kafka technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop custom integration services with Java and Spring Boot to connect source systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain Kafka producers, consumers, and event‑driven services on Apache Kafka / Confluent Cloud.
• Create and optimise Flink SQL stream‑processing jobs for transformation, enrichment, routing, validation and de‑duplication.
• Integrate Schema Registry for schema validation and message governance.
• Support REST/API integrations and configure Kong Gateway communication.
• Implement HTTP sink integrations, payload mapping, retry logic and failure handling.
• Perform unit, component, SIT and E2E testing; troubleshoot defects and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with downstream teams to resolve integration and Kafka topic issues.
• Use GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and release support.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot development.
• Deep knowledge of Apache Kafka, Confluent Cloud and Kafka Connect.
• Hands‑on experience with Flink SQL or similar stream‑processing frameworks.
• Familiarity with Schema Registry, REST APIs and API gateways such as Kong.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
