Senior Internal Auditor – Consultant

About the role

Sententia Consulting is seeking experienced Senior Consultants to deliver internal audit, IT audit and assurance services for government and public‑sector clients. The role can be based in Canberra (Barton) or Melbourne (Southbank) and offers both full‑time and part‑time options.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning through to final sign‑off, including fieldwork, analysis and reporting.
• Develop audit programmes, assess risks and evaluate controls across a range of government departments.
• Produce high‑quality audit findings and recommendations that add value to clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams.
• Contribute to business development and the growth of the practice.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of experience delivering internal audit or assurance services.
• Relevant undergraduate or postgraduate qualification (Accounting, Finance or related field).
• Progress towards or possession of professional certifications such as CA, CPA, CIA or CISA is desirable.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain at least an AGSVA Baseline security clearance.
