Senior Infrastructure & Systems Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a senior infrastructure professional to lead from the front in a well‑established Australian technology business. This hands‑on leadership role combines deep technical expertise with team mentorship to drive performance, security and continuous improvement of a modern Microsoft‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high‑performing infrastructure team.
• Manage Microsoft Azure, Hyper‑V and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Oversee cloud services, hosted platforms and datacentre operations.
• Drive infrastructure modernisation and automation initiatives.
• Strengthen cybersecurity controls, identity management and operational resilience.
• Support Microsoft 365, Intune and enterprise endpoint management.
• Collaborate closely with development teams, leadership and external technology partners.

Required profile

• Proven senior infrastructure or systems administration experience.
• Strong Microsoft Azure administration background.
• Hands‑on expertise with Hyper‑V and Windows Server.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune.
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices and operational controls.
• Previous leadership or mentoring experience in an enterprise IT setting.
• PowerShell, automation and disaster recovery experience highly regarded.
