Senior HSE Coordinator

About the role

Monadelphous is looking for an experienced Senior HSE Coordinator to join its Engineering Construction HSE Management Team. The role works closely with the HSE Manager, General Managers and Senior Leadership to implement strategic HSE initiatives, and provides direct HSE support, guidance, governance and leadership to operational teams. It is based in the Brisbane (Milton) office, with regular travel to sites and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist HSE advice and support to operational teams, aligned with legislative, client and company requirements.
• Lead and support HSE audits, inspections, investigations and safety awareness initiatives.
• Analyse HSE performance data to identify trends, emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor workplace practices and guide teams to comply with HSE procedures, standards and legislation.
• Coach, mentor and lead HSE team members and operational personnel to strengthen safety capability.
• Develop and implement strategies to continuously improve HSE performance.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and contribute to HSE plans, systems and processes.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a Senior HSE role in the Power/Transmission or construction industry is highly regarded.
• Attention to detail, initiative and drive for continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills; able to influence, coach and support teams.
• Demonstrated incident investigation capability, including leading significant investigations, identifying root causes and coaching site HSE personnel and operational leaders.

Required skills

• Experience developing practical HSE management system documentation and a working knowledge of legislative requirements.
• Strong technical HSE skills and knowledge of contemporary HSE management practices.
• Intermediate use of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) for documents, records and reports.
