Senior HR Advisor

About the role

The Queensland Academy of Sport is seeking a Senior HR Advisor to lead the implementation of key HR systems as the organisation transitions to a statutory body. You will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to embed HR governance, manage risk, and foster a high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the final delivery of HR systems and services required for statutory body status.
• Manage the end‑to‑end implementation of a new Learning Management System, including stakeholder engagement, vendor selection, configuration, change management and rollout.
• Review mandatory training courses to ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures and governance.
• Partner with business leaders to build HR capability, provide coaching and embed high‑performance practices.
• Deliver responsive, customer‑focused HR services using data and feedback to improve processes and employee experience.
• Support HR reporting, records management and risk activities to ensure audit readiness.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading HR projects, preferably within a statutory or public‑sector environment.
• Strong knowledge of legislative and regulatory HR requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to analyse data, identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting a safe, inclusive environment for athletes and staff.
