Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

Engeny, part of the Egis Group, is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its Brisbane team. Reporting to the Discipline Leader, you will provide geotechnical support and services to ensure successful project delivery across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of geotechnical projects across all life stages locally and nationally.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budget for key clients.
• Conduct geotechnical analyses, geological and geotechnical modelling, and detailed design.
• Prepare project deliverables, manage financials, write technical reports, and handle administrative tasks.
• Perform site investigations, supervise field work, and conduct construction support inspections.
• Develop project proposals that drive innovative, practical, and sustainable outcomes.
• Support client management and business development activities.
• Participate in team meetings, workshops, training, and business planning.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in a technical geotechnical role within industry or consulting, preferably in the resources sector.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• RPEQ and CPENG highly desired but not mandatory.
• Experience with water infrastructure management (tailings, dams) and knowledge of ANCOLD guidelines.
• Proven project management competence for medium to large projects.
• Ability to travel to sites in Central and Northern Queensland as required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to supervise and mentor staff and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
