Senior Full Stack Engineer – Product Innovation Centre

About the role

Join Qantas' brand‑new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide as a Senior Full Stack Engineer. You will design and deliver robust, scalable systems that power seamless digital experiences for millions of customers, ensuring fast, secure and reliable services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, delivery and development of high‑traffic, customer‑facing web applications.
• Build and maintain scalable APIs and services using Java and modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Develop responsive front‑end features with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.js.
• Ensure system reliability, performance, security and data‑privacy compliance.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and observability tools to support production operations.
• Mentor junior developers and collaborate with technical and non‑technical partners.

Required profile

• 6+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience.
• Proven expertise building high‑traffic web applications across front‑end and back‑end.
• Strong background with Java, Spring/Spring Boot and cloud‑native development on AWS.
• Solid proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript and modern React patterns.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Passion for clean code, quality, continuous improvement and architectural excellence.
