Senior Financial Controller – 12‑Month Fixed Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Controller to lead financial operations across a multi‑entity retail group. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will drive financial rigour, strategic insight, and team performance while ensuring compliance and commercial sharpness.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly and annual group reporting cycle, delivering accurate financial statements in line with AASB standards and consolidating results.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital, banking relationships and funding for operations and capital projects.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts in partnership with operational leaders.
• Provide insight‑driven performance analysis to senior leadership and the board.
• Manage group tax obligations with external advisors to ensure compliance and tax efficiency.
• Build and maintain a strong internal controls environment, including an internal audit framework.
• Champion finance system and reporting automation to support scalability.
• Lead, coach and develop a small finance team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Act as a trusted finance partner to the CEO, CFO and senior leadership team.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; CPA or CA preferred.
• Significant senior finance experience with multi‑entity consolidation and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of AASB standards and group reporting techniques.
• Proven ability to build and lead high‑performing finance teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable at board level.
• Detail‑oriented with big‑picture commercial thinking.
