Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

This senior finance position sits within a fast‑growing, private‑equity backed organisation in Sydney. You will move beyond routine reporting to support acquisitions, group consolidations and finance transformation initiatives, working closely with an experienced finance leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and group reporting across multiple entities.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and assist with external audit requirements.
• Support acquisition accounting, entity integrations and group consolidations.
• Assist with technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
• Drive process improvements, strengthen financial controls and contribute to finance transformation projects.
• Partner with business stakeholders to deliver financial insights and support strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion).
• 3–6 years of experience in a Big 4, Mid‑Tier, or commercial accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and month‑end processes.
• Exposure to statutory reporting and technical accounting principles.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to work across multiple stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high‑growth environment.
