Senior Finance Officer

About the role

Step into an exciting opportunity with the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as a Senior Finance Officer. You will work within a dynamic finance team, providing expert financial advice and ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements across the agency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on financial management, governance, legislation, policies and internal controls.
• Prepare and review monthly, annual and CFO assurance financial reports in line with statutory requirements.
• Maintain and improve financial management policies, systems and delegation frameworks.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as Queensland Treasury and Queensland Audit Office.
• Support the development and implementation of corporate governance, audit and internal control measures.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and high‑quality service delivery.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience delivering accurate and timely financial advice within a government or public‑sector environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial legislation, accounting standards and departmental policies.
• Proven ability to prepare statutory financial reports and support CFO assurance processes.
• Experience developing governance, audit and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach.
