Senior External Audit Analyst – Canberra

About the role

This senior position leads external audit engagements for Deloitte’s Canberra practice, supporting government clients and delivering high‑quality audit services.

Key responsibilities

• Act as senior in‑charge on external audit engagements, overseeing planning, execution and delivery.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulations, standards and best practices to ensure audit quality.
• Drive innovation and develop new audit offerings beyond traditional services.
• Mentor and lead junior team members throughout the audit lifecycle.
• Provide continuous exposure to complex accounting issues across diverse business environments.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in external audit.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, commerce or a related field.
• CA qualification (or close to completion) preferred.
• Experience working with government accounting functions.
• Strong communication, leadership, project management and multitasking abilities.
• Australian citizenship; security clearance required (existing clearance advantageous).
