Senior Engineer – Urban Development

About the role

Egis is expanding its Queensland Urban Development team and seeks a Senior Engineer with RPEQ registration to lead complex infrastructure projects across Southeast Queensland and nationally. The role combines technical leadership, client interaction, and project delivery within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and concept design to detailed design, construction administration, and certification.
• Lead the preparation of high‑quality proposal documentation, fee estimation, methodology development, and contract negotiation.
• Facilitate meetings with clients, internal Egis disciplines, and external consultants to ensure alignment and progress.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, offering technical guidance and assuming leadership of project teams as required.
• Manage project finances, monitoring time and cost against budgets and communicating scope changes to clients.
• Review technical deliverables such as reports, detailed designs, and quality‑assurance data to ensure compliance with standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in urban development projects in Queensland.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and RPEQ registration (or willingness to obtain).
• Proven track record of successfully managing projects to meet client objectives.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, local council planning schemes, and greenfield project requirements.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and business development.
