Senior Engineer – Network Connections (Sydney/Remote)

About the role

The Senior Engineer will join the Network Connections team of a leading Australian energy infrastructure business. Reporting to the Network Connections Team Lead, the role focuses on technical assessment, network modelling and analysis for high‑voltage transmission projects and generator connections, supporting both internal and third‑party customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform generator compliance assessments, negotiate performance standards and support commissioning activities.
• Investigate wide‑area system issues affecting new and existing generators and develop robust network solutions in collaboration with Network Planning and Operations.
• Review and improve generator connection processes, policies and guidelines.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks for technical assessments.
• Monitor changes in the National Electricity Market and related legislation and assess their impact on the NSW HV network.
• Author and review technical reports, reference documentation and deliver presentations to stakeholders.
• Provide timely briefings and recommendations to management.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in network connections, power systems or related engineering roles.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct technical assessments and produce clear, concise reports.
• Strong understanding of high‑voltage transmission systems and generator commissioning.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and commercial awareness.
