Senior Electrical Engineer – Water Infrastructure

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for major water infrastructure projects, including water treatment and desalination plants. The role involves working across the full EPC lifecycle, from tendering and design through to construction support and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead front‑end electrical engineering activities for tenders and detailed design, ensuring compliance with project standards and client expectations.
• Provide technical input during EPC delivery, covering engineering, procurement support, construction planning and commissioning readiness.
• Develop project methods, identify temporary works, and oversee design checking, inspection and maintenance responsibilities.
• Manage schedules, critical path items, resources, risk, sequencing and logistics to protect key milestones.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including clients, stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support construction delivery by implementing method statements, engineering plans and re‑planning as needed.
• Apply risk management and WHS controls, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory obligations.
• Utilise digital engineering tools for planning, coordination, utility identification and collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive industrial electrical engineering experience, preferably in water treatment or desalination projects.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in fast‑paced environments and to lead small teams.
• Strong organisational skills with a focus on meeting tight tender timeframes.
