Senior Electrical Engineer, Buildings

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead building services design across a diverse portfolio in Perth. You will shape safe, sustainable, and innovative electrical solutions for sectors such as defence, healthcare, data centres, resources and commercial developments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver electrical building services from concept through detailed design and construction support, covering power distribution, lighting, backup power, communications and security systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, design reviews and technical assessments to ensure safety, compliance and functionality.
• Collaborate with architects, structural, civil, mechanical, ICT, hydraulics, fire and sustainability specialists to create integrated solutions.
• Contribute to project planning, resource allocation and design budget management, ensuring quality outcomes.
• Engage with project managers, contractors, clients and stakeholders to resolve challenges and communicate design intent.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 6+ years of experience delivering electrical building services design in a consulting or engineering environment.
• Proven experience on complex building projects in sectors such as defence, healthcare, data centres or commercial developments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code and relevant electrical design requirements.
