Senior DevSecOps Engineer

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to enhance and secure the delivery of mission‑critical Defence capabilities. You will work in an Agile environment, shaping DevSecOps strategy, modernising pipelines and embedding security throughout the software lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve secure CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks across complex Defence programs.
• Champion security‑by‑design by integrating vulnerability management, compliance controls, threat detection and security tooling.
• Collaborate with software engineers, system engineers, architects and stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient and secure solutions.
• Drive platform optimisation, infrastructure‑as‑code adoption, monitoring and operational excellence while mentoring team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and supporting secure CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or Azure DevOps.
• Strong background in infrastructure‑as‑code and automation with Terraform, Ansible and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles, vulnerability management and security tooling across the delivery lifecycle.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within Agile teams and provide technical leadership.
