Senior DevSecOps Engineer

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to strengthen and secure mission‑critical Defence capabilities. Working in an Agile, collaborative environment, you will shape the DevSecOps strategy, modernise delivery pipelines and embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve secure CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks across complex Defence programs.
• Champion security‑by‑design by integrating vulnerability management, compliance controls, threat detection and security tooling.
• Collaborate with software engineers, system engineers, architects and stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient and secure solutions.
• Drive platform optimisation, infrastructure‑as‑code adoption, monitoring and operational excellence while mentoring team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and supporting secure CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or Azure DevOps.
• Strong background with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform and Ansible, and scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Deep knowledge of DevSecOps principles, vulnerability management and security tooling across the software delivery lifecycle.
• Hands‑on experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Ability to work effectively within Agile teams, providing technical leadership and continuous improvement.
