Senior DevSecOps Engineer – Cloud, Application & Container Security

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineering Engineer to join our Cloud, Application & Container Security Chapter in Australia. The role focuses on embedding secure‑by‑design practices across software supply chains, container platforms, Kubernetes environments and cloud ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement security controls for application and container architectures.
• Lead the implementation of secure software‑supply‑chain controls throughout the Build‑Ship‑Run lifecycle.
• Drive adoption of curated, hardened container images and secure Kubernetes, Docker, micro‑services and service‑mesh environments.
• Design and automate security provisioning and remediation, leveraging AI/ML technologies.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities and security technologies.

Required profile

• Security engineering professional with deep expertise in DevSecOps, cloud security and container security.
• Proven experience securing modern cloud‑native platforms and software supply chains.
• Passion for automation, security engineering and continuous improvement.
• Ability to influence engineering teams and drive enterprise‑scale security transformation.
• Experience working in large‑scale cloud and platform environments.

Required skills

• Kubernetes (3+ years) and containerized environments.
• DevOps/DevSecOps experience (3+ years) with CI/CD pipeline design and security testing integration.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code: Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Programming/scripting: Python, Go.
• Understanding of SRE practices, micro‑services and cloud‑native architectures.
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies for security automation.
• Optional certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), AWS/Azure/GCP security certifications.
