Senior Credit Risk Officer – Commercial Bank

About the role

Citi is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Officer to join its Independent Risk Management team for the Citi Commercial Bank in Australia. In this senior position you will hold individual credit authority, assess complex credit proposals, and help maintain the quality of the bank’s lending portfolio while supporting new business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the final credit approver for new transactions, renewals and modifications, exercising delegated authority.
• Assess complex credit proposals by analysing borrower financial performance, cash‑flow models, industry dynamics and risk factors.
• Monitor an assigned portfolio, identify early signs of credit deterioration and work with partners on risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Underwriters and front‑line teams to provide guidance on credit structuring and risk identification.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in corporate banking, credit risk management or a related financial services discipline.
• Proven track record as a credit officer with delegated authority on complex transactions.
• Extensive experience managing credit for mid‑market or large corporate clients, including detailed financial statement analysis.
• Strong analytical and quantitative capability with the ability to make well‑supported credit judgments.
