Senior Consultant – Native Android Mobile Developer

About the role

Fabric is a Melbourne‑based software consultancy seeking a senior Android developer to lead mobile projects for diverse clients. You will work autonomously, mentor junior engineers, and shape the mobile practice across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and release native Android applications following best‑practice architecture.
• Implement continuous delivery and test‑driven development to accelerate feature delivery.
• Mentor and coach less‑experienced mobile engineers, host tech meet‑ups and contribute to community events.
• Advise clients on technical decisions, participate in architectural discussions and help establish mobile standards.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on mobile software engineering experience, preferably on Android.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
• Proven track record of technical leadership and mentoring within fast‑paced environments.

Required skills

• Android platform development (Java/Kotlin).
• Full Android lifecycle management (design, testing, signing, releasing).
• Test‑driven development, CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery practices.
• Scalable architecture and performance optimisation for mobile apps.
