Senior Commercial Business Partner QLD & NT

About the role

BlueScope is seeking a Senior Commercial Business Partner to support its high-performing Building Components business in Queensland and Northern Territory, based in Archerfield, QLD. The role sits on both the National Commercial Leadership Team and the QLD & NT State Business Leadership Team, partnering with senior leaders to give trusted commercial insight, strategic guidance and performance advice. It is a high-impact leadership position.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the State Manager and leadership team to develop and implement strategies that enhance EBIT, optimise the balance sheet and support business objectives
• Provide commercial insight beyond financial results, identifying performance drivers and challenging decisions constructively
• Contribute to planning, investment decisions (including capex) and operational priorities with a whole-of-business view
• Ensure effective financial controls, commercial governance and risk management are embedded
• Build collaborative relationships across sales, operations, finance and other functions
• Identify, prioritise and progress a pipeline of improvement initiatives
• Monitor the internal and external environment for better ways of working, improvement opportunities and new technologies

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
• Extensive finance and commercial experience in a complex business
• Proven ability to influence strategy and business decisions
• Ability to communicate complex financial and commercial information clearly to varied stakeholders
• Confidence navigating ambiguity, competing priorities and organisational boundaries
