Senior Coal Technician 1

About the role

Bureau Veritas, a global leader in laboratory testing, inspection and certification services, is hiring a Senior Coal Technician in Gladstone. The technician supports the Laboratory Supervisor and Manager and takes part in laboratory consulting services for clients, helping to control and resolve technical issues affecting the client's business. The role is based locally in the Gladstone region and involves travel to mine sites; there is no FIFO.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality, timely results and products to customers as required.
• Maintain communication with customers and keep their information confidential.
• Ensure accurate, precise and timely reporting of analyses, validate data where possible and document findings in the relevant job file.
• Ensure proposals, quotations and tenders are approved by the Laboratory and National Operations Manager.
• Take part in training and help develop and monitor internal laboratory systems and processes.

Required profile

• Experience working in a coal testing laboratory.
• Sound working knowledge of OHS and QA systems and the processes behind them.
• Ability to meet site inductions and ongoing drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Must live locally in the Gladstone region and be willing to travel to different mine sites; no FIFO.
