Senior Auditor

About the role

BDO is seeking a Senior Auditor to join its Adelaide audit team. You will work on a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients, delivering high‑quality audit engagements across multiple industries. This role offers the chance to develop technical expertise while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audits for large proprietary and listed companies across various industries.
• Complete planning sections of audit files independently.
• Collaborate with other teams to develop audit strategies and methodologies.
• Identify potential problem areas or budget issues and coordinate engagements with minimal supervision.
• Ensure compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements across multiple frameworks.
• Analyse and document internal controls and control environments.
• Draft management letters and completion reports.
• Coach and mentor junior colleagues and build internal relationships.
• Liaise with clients to identify future business opportunities.

Required profile

• Previous external audit experience in a professional services firm.
• CA or CPA qualification (or working towards it).
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience reviewing General Purpose accounts, including listed entities.
• Ability to identify audit scope and solve problems.
