Senior Audit Lead – Institutional

About the role

ANZ’s Internal Audit function is seeking a Senior Audit Lead for the Institutional portfolio (excluding Markets). Reporting to the Audit Director – Institutional, you will lead independent third‑line assurance across end‑to‑end Institutional customer value chains, ensuring robust governance, risk management and control effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute audit engagements of varying complexity across Institutional customer value chains.
• Manage audit delivery within agreed timelines and budgets, ensuring disciplined execution and timely risk escalation.
• Identify key risks, emerging issues and coverage priorities to shape audit planning.
• Apply Internal Audit methodology, Global Internal Audit Standards and the Non‑Financial Risk Framework.
• Leverage data analytics and AI to enhance audit planning, testing and insight generation.
• Engage proactively with business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality audit outcomes and support a strong speak‑up culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading audit engagements within a financial services environment.
• Strong risk judgment and ability to assess material risks and customer outcomes.
• Experience managing audit delivery, budgets and issue follow‑up.
• Ability to work collaboratively with audit teams and business stakeholders.
