Senior Associate / Special Counsel - Workplace Relations & Safety

About the role

HWL Ebsworth, a highly regarded employment practice and the largest legal partnership in Australia, is looking for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join its Workplace Relations & Safety team in Melbourne. The team works closely with Partners Chris Egan, Karli Evans and Tony Lawrence and advises large and medium-sized corporate clients, insurers, government bodies and statutory authorities. The role covers industrial relations, workplace health and safety, investigations and employment law matters.

Required profile

• 5+ years of PAE (practicing as an employee).
• Demonstrated experience or appetite to run contentious and/or non-contentious employment matters such as safety, enterprise bargaining, unfair dismissal, investigations and general advisory work.
• Sound understanding of workplace relations, industrial relations and safety law, and experience advising on employment matters across a range of commercial transactions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• For senior candidates, an appetite for mentoring the junior cohort.
