Senior Associate, Internal Audit

About the role

Join Grant Thornton’s fast‑growing Internal Audit team as a Senior Associate. You will work on high‑profile client assignments across the public sector, higher education, infrastructure and purpose‑driven organisations, delivering end‑to‑end audit and risk consulting engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end internal audit and risk consulting engagements with guidance from a manager.
• Analyse clients’ risk environments and propose practical solutions.
• Manage client interactions, oversee junior resources and coach junior staff.
• Handle project administration tasks such as billing and work‑in‑progress tracking.
• Develop high‑quality reports and engagement deliverables in partnership with managers.
• Contribute to commercial problem‑solving through critical analysis and logical reasoning.
• Present outcomes to clients and internal stakeholders to influence decision‑making.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience providing internal audit services in‑house or in professional services.
• Experience or interest in public sector, higher education, infrastructure or purpose‑driven organisations.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CIA or equivalent (or currently pursuing).
• Proven ability to design and prepare audit documentation.
• Strong client‑engagement and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience managing and developing junior staff.
• Analytical mindset with a continuous‑improvement attitude.
