Senior Android Engineer – Mobile Workflows

About the role

Canva is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join the Mobile Workflows team. You will shape the tooling, testing infrastructure, and quality strategy that powers Android development across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain Android‑specific development tooling, including simulator setup, device orchestration and CLI tools.
• Develop and enhance the mobile test automation framework for synthetic and integration testing on Android.
• Design and implement CI/CD quality‑gating with automated tests to proactively detect regressions.
• Collaborate with Native Infra, Cross‑Platform and DevX teams to unify fragmented mobile workflows.
• Define, improve and codify mobile testing best practices across Canva.
• Support company‑wide triage workflows and monitoring for mobile development and testing.
• Share knowledge across mobile teams and mentor less‑experienced engineers.

Required profile

• Experienced Android engineer with a passion for developer tooling and testing infrastructure.
• Strong foundations in computer science and software‑engineering practices.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and devise technical solutions independently.
• Attention to detail and strategic thinking, writing reusable and testable code.
