Senior Accountant

About the role

Desky, which started as a Brisbane sit-stand desk startup and now serves more than 300,000 customers across Australia, the US, Canada and Europe, is looking for a Senior Accountant to report to the CFO. It is a brand-new role, so you will help shape how it works, working closely with the CFO on a growing global business.

Key responsibilities

• Day-to-day accounting across Australian and international entities, including accounts payable, bank transactions, payroll and tax.
• Track stock and sales flow, keep platforms in step and ensure Shopify accounts reconcile at month end.
• Monitor daily cash and credit card balances and work with the CFO to keep cash flow on track.
• Help prepare the weekly payment run, checking invoices against paperwork and following up mismatches.
• Build hands-on experience in Australian BAS, US sales tax, Canadian GST and European taxes, with the CFO's support.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally in an inventory-based ecommerce or product business.
• Exposure to international tax in the US, Canada or Europe.
• An eye for detail and enjoyment of problem-solving.

Required skills

• Advanced Xero skills.
• Confidence in Excel or Google Sheets, including XLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• Experience with Cin7 Core or similar.
