Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the finance team of an ASX‑listed financial services company based in Sydney CBD. The role is permanent and focuses on delivering high‑quality statutory reporting and supporting the audit process in a fast‑moving lending environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close, including journal preparation, reconciliations and variance analysis across the group.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate the year‑end audit with external auditors.
• Develop technical accounting papers and ensure compliance with AASB standards, especially revenue recognition and financial instruments.
• Contribute to board reporting packs and meet ASX continuous disclosure obligations.
• Collaborate with FP&A and Treasury to support cash‑flow forecasting and reporting.
• Drive finance process improvements, including systems and automation initiatives.
• Mentor and support junior finance team members as the business grows.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or working towards an equivalent overseas qualification).
• Proven experience in financial or statutory accounting, preferably within financial services, lending or funds management.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with AASB standards.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with finance and broader business stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and comfort handling large data sets.
