Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will join a high‑performing finance team in Sydney, delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting compliance initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will have strong visibility across the business and opportunities for career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/AASB guidelines.
• Manage the month‑end close process, including journals, reconciliations, accruals and variance analysis.
• Support year‑end audit activities and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity and enforce robust internal controls.
• Assist with technical accounting matters, tax compliance (FBT, GST) and implementation of new accounting standards.
• Partner with finance and business stakeholders to provide insight, budgeting and forecasting support.
• Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements and finance transformation projects.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified, preferably with audit or business services experience.
• Strong financial accounting background, ideally in property, real estate or a complex corporate environment.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Confident communicator able to engage senior stakeholders.
