Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a global professional services firm’s finance team. The role focuses on statutory reporting, compliance, and tax across Australia and New Zealand, supporting both organic growth and acquisition integration.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements for Australia, New Zealand and acquired entities.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax requirements and IFRS.
• Perform monthly reporting, including profit and loss and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Review and approve journal entries and adjustments.
• Assist with audit processes and act as the primary contact for internal and external auditors.
• Support finance integration of acquisitions from a reporting and compliance perspective.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, policies and processes.
• Contribute to finance system improvements and efficiency initiatives.
• Collaborate with broader finance teams to resolve reporting issues and enhance accuracy.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified.
• 6+ years of experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting or audit.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
• Proven experience managing audits and tax compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder‑management skills.
