Senior Account Manager - GCN Partner Sales

About the role

Ciena, a global leader in high-speed connectivity, is looking for a Senior Account Manager to develop and manage business within the regional GCN Partner sales vertical. The role focuses on winning new business within Ciena's Global Partner Community and expanding opportunities within the existing footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional GCN demand and execution plan
• Own short, medium- and long-term business plans to meet financial performance objectives
• Drive innovative go-to-market models, including MOFN variants, management models and advanced service offers
• Represent customer needs internally so that product features, delivery dates and pricing are met
• Ensure SalesForce forecast accuracy and execution against plans
• Align strategies with Direct GCN Sales Teams and International SP Sales Teams

Required profile

• Deep knowledge, influence and network within the GCN industry community
• Advanced awareness of the competitive landscape and industry trends
• Proven success in an MOFN sales role
• Experience in a carrier, especially with Hyperscaler customers, is advantageous

Required skills

• Technical background in optical networking, especially 6500/waveserver; knowledge of network engineering and sales engineering roles is a plus
• Strategic thinking and business planning, with strong financial accuracy and forecasting
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the regional GCN market
