Senior 12D Design Engineer

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Senior 12D Design Engineer to lead civil infrastructure design using 12D Model, focusing on road alignment and earthworks. The role offers flexibility to work from any of ACCIONA’s Australian offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth, supporting critical infrastructure projects across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver detailed design models and documentation with the latest 12D Model and AutoCAD versions.
• Produce cost‑effective designs across civil disciplines including roads, earthworks, drainage, stormwater, sewer and water infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and external stakeholders to ensure practical engineering outcomes.
• Identify and manage risks, opportunities and scope variations throughout the design process.
• Prepare design inputs for estimating, including quantities and take‑offs.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering 12D civil designs, especially road alignment, within a design consultancy.
• Strong understanding of road design principles and alignment methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• 12D Model (including macro programming, snippet creation and chains).
• AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with alternative design platforms such as OpenRoads.
